The Adult Education program remains the life-blood of our success. We helped 1,978 students in the 2023 academic year. From this group, 414 achieved HSE graduation and 69 earned Training on the Go credentials. These programs build a skilled workforce and boost community participation.
Local industry partnerships create valuable opportunities for our students. To name just one example, our nursing apprenticeship work with medical centers gives students practical healthcare experience.
These partnerships help us match our curriculum to what employers want, making our graduates highly desirable in the job market.
Real Student Success Stories
Each diploma from Coosa Valley Tech tells a story of personal growth. Our graduates show how technical education creates new career paths in a variety of industries.
Take Christopher Poole, a 2020 Aviation Maintenance Technology graduate who moved faster up the career ladder at Delta Air Lines. He started as a contractor and landed a permanent position as an aircraft support mechanic.
Soon after, he became an aviation maintenance technician. His success came from hands-on training and vital support from our Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Program that helped with his tools, gas money, and childcare costs.
Kayla Crabbe’s Story
Kayla Crabbe’s story shows what happens when hard work meets quality education. She earned her associate degree in Culinary Arts and started her own food truck business. Chef Anna Ray helped her become skilled at both cooking and running a business.
Allison “Allie” Patnode’s path proves that barriers don’t stand a chance here. She started as a student getting her associate degree in Health and diploma in Dental Assisting. By 2021, she had become the dean of Nursing and Health Technologies. Her teaching excellence made her GNTC’s Rick Perkins Instructor of the Year in 2015.
Our Student Success program stands out from the rest. Students get personalized guidance through our eMap academic pathways. Success coaches at every campus give complete support from academic prep to time management.
Our graduates shine in unexpected places too. Yosdel Castaneda, at just 19, joined seven other female students who changed the game in our Welding and Joining Technology program.
Our strategic collaboration with Georgia Power launched a resilient Electrical Lineworker Program. Students earn their commercial driver’s licenses along with other key skills.
These stories show our school’s effect on people’s lives and our region’s workforce. We shape tomorrow’s skilled professionals through strategic collaborations, complete support systems, and industry-focused training.
